Saturday, a group composed of Reinhard, Sarah, Myriam, Betsy, Yuko, Matt, Bjorn, Marcus, Jason and me hopped a train and headed for Nürnberg. We spent the night at the Youth Hostel in Nürnberg and returned Sunday evening.
The three pictures shown on this page were taken by Matt and processed by me.
I hope to
write a bit about this weekend in the near future, and to add some more
pictures once I get my slides converted to digital. For the meantime,
however, these pictures will give you a flavor of the weekend.
Here's a photo of four members of our group standing on one of the
beautiful bridges in Nürnberg.
From left to right are Reinhard, me, Sarah, and Myriam. I cropped this
picture to try and achieve the right composition, but was unable
for some reason to extend the bottom of the picture with my
image processing software. I keep telling Matt he needs to stop
cutting off people's feet in his pictures, but he just accuses me of
having a foot fetish.
Here is a nice portrait of Myriam standing on the same bridge. Matt snapped
this photo and I cropped it.
The last thing we did before we left Nürnberg was to visit the
Reichparteitagesgelande, the place where the Nazi's held their large
rallys. While we were there, an older German woman in a winter jogging outfit
was running up the steps and walking down them in a loop. Sarah thought
it looked like fun and decided to try it for herself. This got us all
going on the concept, and many of us ended up running up the steps.
Here Sarah is shown on her initial ascent.
And by the way, just to prove
I don't have a foot fetish, I feel compelled to say that I don't mind at all
that even at this great distance Matt managed to capture Sarah with one foot
partially hidden behind a step.
Such a missing foot seems perfectly appropriate in an action shot like
this. Besides, sometimes things are better left to imagination.
