Not only German buffalos
First Erfhrungsaustausch at the loose greeting evening of the Goethe Institute

Friday, February 12

To help me translate Matthias's article from German, I decided to first run the German version through the Babelfish translator at altavista.com. The Babelfish translator is at:

http://babelfish.altavista.com/cgi-bin/translate?

Babelfish can translate web pages from many languages to many other languages, including from German to English. However, given that the translation is done by software, the result generally needs to be massaged by a human. I figured I'd start with Babelfish, then polish the result.

Upon reading Babelfish's English rendition of Matthias's article, which was titled "Not Only German Buffalos," I decided to publish it as well. This page gives Babelfish's English version. For my English version, see the next page.

ROTHENBURG - German buffalos, but also country and people to become acquainted with do not only want the students and students of the course, which began days ago at the Goethe Institute. For the prelude and first becoming acquainted with there was a small greeting party, to which also the landlords were loaded.

Gael from Switzerland would like gladly pilot will and wants in the next seven weeks its sprachkenntnisse at the Goethe Institute to improve. Marcus and Bjoern from Sweden remain even four months, in order to become acquainted with apart from the German language also the Germans. 23 class participants and almost still times so many Rothenburger met on Friday evening with the becoming acquainted with party in the Goethe Institute to a cosy " Beschnuppern ".

The 23 users of the present Deustch Intensivkurses, who come from almost likewise many countries and already are for 10 days in Rothenburg, used the evening to first exchange of experience over their present homeland.

Thus Betsy from the USA finds the city and the institute and it can here " very well learn " also humans in Rothenburg is " very beautiful " " very helpfully ", above all the family, at which she is accommodated, is " very nice ". German it learns to improve particularly to the fun and around its knowledge acquired in the school. Additionally the beginning veterinary medicine student hopes to come later in the occupation more frequently to Germany and to buy " humans, into Germany the horses wants " to help.

Generally the usually young users learn German for their occupation or their study. Also Elena, which made the far way from Susdal on invitation of the city after Rothenburg, is for this reason at the Goethe Institute.

With a small Bueffet, with much love of the kitchen personnel and the teachers of the institute as well as Anja Friedel it prepares and with Frankish wine and beer very soon a loose tendency arose and the Rothenburger could make sure that again once the world in its city meets, because the present Goethe troop is consisting a multicolored mixed bunch, of Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Greece, the USA, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, Japan, Macedonia Yugoslavia, Tschechien and Litauen.
